The Heartland Latino Leadership Conference is recognized for being a catalyst for positive change, a vital supporter of business, government and individual success and an organization that empowers individuals and organizations to seek, develop and sustain a balanced leadership.

Goals

1. To offer innovative leadership training opportunities for Latinos and community at large that will foster their ability to perform in a vital, resourceful and balanced capacity in their personal and professional lives.
2. To offer a space for Latinos and non-Latinos to network, learn and grow, always seeking a common ground that is respectful of individual differences.
3. To recognize the achievements of Latinos that have contributed to the growth and development of our community. By recognizing their achievements we also intend to inspire others to contribute and support the common good.
4. To foster the personal and professional development of Latino youth by providing scholarship programs and exposure to leadership opportunities that will help them to shape their visions as future leaders of our community.

About Our Logo

HLLC Logo

The Heartland Latino Leadership Conference & Expo wishes to thank artist Linda Garcia for her design contributions. Each element of the design incorporates symbols that express the strength, hopes, and culture of the Latino community. Taken together, they relay an even more powerful message of progress toward a fulfilling destiny.

HEART is for the heartland and for the real leadership which must involve your Corazón (Heart and Spirit) as well as the mind.

HAND symbolizes hecho en Mexico or handmade in Mexico. Although all Latinos are not of Mexican heritage, this symbol was chosen because leadership needs hands on efforts to grow a strong community. Many indigenous people have a strong history of folk art.

SEED held in the palm of the Hand, the seed symolizes growth. Leadership,

like a planted seed, benefits not only the sower but also a multitude of others.

FRIEZE within the Heart, the step like symbol is originally from Vera Cruz.

This ancient symbol was chosen to represent a historical perspective. You must know where you come from to know where you are going. One must perpetuate their heritage.

RIVERS the outside lines of the Heart represent the Missouri and the Platte Rivers, reinforces the heritage of the Heartland, and invokes it as a new gathering place.
